Peace does not come when conflicts end. That is just the beginning of the end of violence. Armed conflicts destroy lives, ravage territories, tear entire communities. There is still much to do: Restore peace, reconcile communities, clean up lands of pollution and explosive devices.
Making communities capable of returning to their homes and rebuild the territory and their lives implies an immense task that requires extraordinary courage, commitment, patience and preparation.

هل بإمكانك العودة إلى موطنك إذا كان هذا هو حال المكان الذي إعتدت العيش فيه؟
السلام لا يعود مباشرة فور انتهاء الصراعات. لا بل تلك هي بداية العنف. النزاعات المسلحة تدمر الحياة، تخرب الأراضي، تمزق المجتمعات ككل. ما زال هناك الكثير لعمله: إستعادة السلام، التوافق بين المجتمعات، تطهير الأراضي من التلوث والمواد المتفجرة.
إن جعل المجتمعات قادرة على العودة إلى ديارهم وإعادة بناء أراضيهم وحياتهم ينطوي على مهمة عظيمة تتطلب شجاعة استثنائية والتزامًا وصبرًا واستعدادًا هائلاً.
