Finance Officer
Full Time/ AMACC/Jordan

 

1. Job Information:

2. Job Brief:

Finance Officer, who manages important financial functions of an organization. They produce financial
reports, manage investment activities, and create strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of an
organization.

 

3. Work Schedule:

6 days per week.

 

4. Probationary Period:

The first 90 days of employment will be considered as probationary, during which Employer or
employee can terminate the agreement without any notice as per Jordanian Labor law.

5. Responsibilities and accountabilities.

Management and development of finance.

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations including: (accounts payable/receivable, cash
    receipts, general ledger, payroll, cash forecasting, account statement reconciliations, fixed
    asset activity, debt activity …etc).
  • Prepare and manage and monitor metrics, KPI tracking, and course of action to achieve them
    as well as reports.
  • Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Monitor and control the flow of money into and out of an organization.
  • Develop risk register regarding financial issues.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    participate top management with creating proposal budget for AMACC and projects.
  • Prepare report for progress of overall budget of AMACC and its projects.
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Provide Consultations for top management about financial issues and help them make right
    financial decisions.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare financial policies and plans and present them for top management.

Legal

  • Ensure compliance with local laws regarding financial issues (TAX, SSC, ..etc)
  • Monitor financial details to ensure that legal requirements are met – in which AMACC operate-.
  • Liaises with logistics, human resources, and finance to ensure donor compliance.

Reports

  • Contributes to ensures all financial reports being submitted are timely, complete, and accurate.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Following up monthly reports with other branches and prepare comprehensive monthly financial report.

Audit

  • Conduct audit for other branch based on predetermined criteria to confirm compliance with approved
    budget.
  • Facilitates all Donor audits and follows through on effective and timely resolution of matters arising
  • Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
  • Ensures auditors get all financial information they need.

Management of Projects and donors.

  • Follow up suspend payments from donors/contractors.
  • Make estimates of funds required for the short and long-term financial objectives of AMACC.
  • Assists project managers and officers in the preparation of project budgets and proposals.
  • Provides advice to project teams on donor regulation and proper donor budget format.
  • Prepare monthly finance report and conduct a meeting to discuss with project managers reasons for
  • budget variances and implements actions to correct them.
  • Prepares monthly finance report meetings and minutes and follow up progress on action points.
  • Reconciles monthly project accounts and ensures appropriate action is taken by respective staff.
  • Provides input and analysis required by project managers and officers to monitor and report on
  • financial activities of their projects.
  • Supervise employees who do financial reporting and budgeting of projects.
  • Complete financial reports, lead the month-end closing process

 

6. Job Specifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required.

  • Degree in finance/accounting or related (essential).
  • Certified Public Accountant (JCPA) license (essential or Equivalent)
  • Must have knowledge of the topics, tax laws, and regulations that are specific to our field of work.
  • +10 years of work experience as a Finance (essential).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, and other financial planning software.
