Every year on the fourth of April, Arab Mine Action Consultancy Crew (AMACC), along with other international organizations and bodies, celebrates The International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. The main purpose of observing this day is to remind people of the importance of awareness regarding the dangers of mines and the psychological, social, and economic impact they leave on affected communities. Efforts are directed towards building and developing capacities in the field of mine-related activities in areas where mines and remnants of war pose a serious threat to the lives and safety of citizens, and hinder the efforts of local population return, reconstruction, social and agricultural development.
In collaboration with various partners, AMACC has undertaken numerous awareness initiatives across Iraq and Jordan, focusing on diverse impacted areas. These initiatives are driven by noble objectives, aiming to enhance awareness among affected populations regarding mine dangers. Efforts are made in collaboration with relevant organizations and companies to clean and release as many contaminated lands as possible, making them suitable for work and stability, thus achieving sustainable development.
