LANDMINE & ERW PROBLEM
As results of the 1948 partition of Palestine, the 1967 Arab-Israeli conflict, the 1970 civil war, and the 1975 confrontation with Syria. Jordan was contaminated by mines and explosive remnants of war (ERW), also Military training ranges and cross-border smuggling have added to the ERW problem.
MINE CLARENCE
In December 1997, the Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations submitted a request to the Mine Action Service (UNMAS) for either financial or material support of the mine clearance program.
