Position: HSSE Officer (Health, Safety, Security and Environment Officer)

Job Summary:
AMACC is looking for a dedicated and experienced HSSE Officer to ensure the health, safety, security, and environmental compliance of the company’s operations. This role requires a hands-on approach to implementing and monitoring HSSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture among employees. This position is critical in ensuring a safe work environment in both office and field operations monitoring some field operations remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and update safety, occupational health, security, and environmental policies, and review them periodically.
· Conduct regular risk assessments, update the risk register, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
· Organize training sessions for employees to raise awareness of safety procedures.
· Provide technical support to field teams to ensure compliance with safety standards.
· Develop emergency response and crisis management plans and train employees accordingly.
· Follow up on regular medical check-ups for employees and provide recommendations.
· Prepare periodic reports for the direct manager on compliance and violations.
· Coordinate with external parties such as civil defense and legal advisors.
· Maintain safety documents updated in accordance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
· Conduct regular internal inspections at work sites to ensure compliance with safety standards.
· Preparing health and safety documentation related to tenders and bids.
· Performing periodic inspections with health and safety staff in the company’s branches and maintaining continuous communication with them.
· Monitoring compliance with health, safety, and environmental matters.
· Any other tasks in the field of his job requested by the General manager
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· 3–5 years of experience in HSSE roles.
· Strong knowledge of local HSSE laws and international safety standards.
· Ability to conduct risk assessments, site audits, and incident investigations.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
· Ability to work in challenging environments and travel to operational sites when required.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSSE-related reporting tools.
· Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills (Plus):
· Additional certifications in ISO 9001, 14001, or risk management frameworks.
· Experience in handling regulatory compliance with government authorities.
· Familiarity with security risk assessments and crisis management.
· Certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001.
